Healing for the Whole Person: How Mindfulness and Breathwork Can Ease Pain and Lift the Spirit
May 13, 2020
The body’s biological response to breath is profound. Breathing and meditation not only relieve stress and anxiety and increase energy levels, but can boost the immune system and improve lung capacity. The practices of meditation and breathwork, however, transcend the physical and can create a deeper connection to the wellness of the whole person.
Lauren will deliver an experiential approach to convey how consciously connecting one’s breath brings not just physical relief, but peace, personal transformation, and joy. She will be joined by Dr. Neda Gould, Associate Director of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Anxiety Disorders Clinic, who will describe the research findings supporting mindfulness meditation for health and outline how we can build a foundation for a personal mindfulness practice.
