How does breathwork “work?” Breathwork is the experiential field of study and practice that uses conscious connected breathing techniques to promote self-awareness and to support the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Breathwork uses conscious connected breathing to release trauma, clear emotional blockages, and heal physical ailments. Inhibited breathing patterns are created over time by stress and anxiety. Muscle and connective tissue held in these patterns of tension for long periods actually constrict and change shape. Shifting from these patterns to deep diaphragmatic breathing sometimes requires coaching.

As a breathwork teacher, I guide you through this shift. By learning how to open your breath, I can help you tap into the deep places in your subconscious where stuck negative emotions and energy have been trapped. With conscious breathing, you can process, integrate, and release these emotions. Opening the breath allows you to feel confident, free, and more authentically you.

Once the breath is full and open, the possibilities are endless. Releasing stuck emotional energy also opens doorways into other states of being. For some it feels meditative and relaxing; others achieve a visible, almost palpable sense of bliss. Still others experience new states of consciousness often associated with mystical or deeper spiritual connection.
